Ⅶ. Research on bamboo leaf flavone's function of curing prostatitis |
|
Flavonoids are widely contained in fruits, vegetables, tea leaves, beans and their products and they are effective factors in a lot of traditional Chinese medicine. Flavone from natural sources has small molecular weight and is easy to be absorbed through the blood-brain barrier.
Latest research has shown that bamboo leaf flavone can control the activity of seven common pathogenic viruses in the urinary system – E.faecalis, S.pyogenes, S.epidermidis, P.vulgaris, K.pneumoniae, S.aureus and E.coli. Besides, it has obvious control on small mice's croton oil and xylene otitis models, big mouse's carrageen prostatic gland model, small mice's growing of prostate (it doesn't affect the growing of testicles, seminal vesicle and levator anus muscle), small mice's hyperplasia of prostate caused by testosterone propionate and anti-rabbit's platelet aggregation both internally and externally. It can obviously improve small mice's immunity of body fluid and cells and the function of macrophage phagocytosis. It can control many tumor cells' hyperplasia, which can be developed into natural medicine or health foods to prevent and cure diseases involving the prostate. This natural medicine or health food can use bamboo leaf flavone as the only effective ingredient or functional factor or use it along with other common factors, such as primary medicines of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, or botanic extracts (including botan-polysaccharide, botanic flavone, botan-sterol, farina extracts and lycopene), antibiotics, α acceptor retardant, anti-inflammation medicine and so on.
As the active factor to prevent and cure diseases involving prostate, the dosages of bamboo leaf flavone are 10-1000mg for adults, 50-600mg if it is fine flavone, once or twice a day. Bamboo leaf flavone can be made into various types – tablets, capsules, granules, pills, dropping pills, force-emulsion, micellar emulsion, suspension, syrup, various enterosoluble praeparatum, injection, spray, ointment, suppository and other per rectum praeparatum.
Systematic research has shown that medicine and/or health foods containing bamboo leaf flavone can prevent and cure prostatitis (both bacteriogenic and nonbacterial), hyperplasia of the prostate, tumor of prostate and other diseases of urinary system. |

| Ⅷ. Experiments and researches on bamboo leaf flavone against hypoxia of whole animal |
|
Oxygen is one of the essential elements in life, participating in biological oxidation and metabolism of energy. Hypoxia will cause serious damage to health shown in (Table 7-3).

Bamboo leaf flavone can extend the lives of mice in normal anoxic tolerance experiment. Isoprenaline can accelerate mice's consumption of oxygen, shorten their lives and decrease their ability of making use of oxygen. Continuous injection with 0.15g/kg, 0.45g/kg, 1.35g/kg bamboo leaf flavone and 0.5g/kg compound Salvia Miltiorrhiza (a kind of traditional Chinese medicine which can stimulate blood circulation, remove stasis, regulate vital energy and relieve pain) into small mice's abdominal cavity can obviously extend their lives in an anoxic situation after being injected with isoprenaline, compared with the control group.
Bamboo leaf flavone can obviously extend the lives of small mice poisoned by sodium nitrite. An experiment has shown that the dosage of bamboo leaf flavone in the medium-dosage group (0.45g/kg) and the high-dosage group (1.35g/kg) can extend the lives of poisoned mice by 23.8% and 49.6%, respectively.
Bamboo leaf flavone can obviously extend the lives of mice poisoned by potassium cyanide. An experiment has shown that continuous abdominal injection with bamboo leaf flavone in the medium-dosage group (0.45g/kg) and high-dosage group (1.35g/kg) can extend the poisoned mice's lives by 115% and 141.6%, respectively.
Bamboo leaf flavone can obviously extend the lidocaine poisoned mice's lives. An experiment has shown that the dosage of bamboo leaf flavone in the high-dosage group can extend the poisoned mice's life by 107.6%.
Bamboo leaf flavone can obviously lengthen the duration of trachea occluded small mice's electrocardio. An experiment has shown that the dosage of bamboo leaf flavone in the medium-dosage group (0.45g/kg) and the high-dosage group (1.35g/kg) can obviously lengthen the duration of trachea occluded small mice's electrocardio by 36.04% and 68.79%, respectively. There is an obvious differentia from the distilled water group.. |

Ⅹ. Research on bamboo leaf flavone's function in preventing myocardial infarction and myocardial ischemia |
|
Myocardial infarction refers to the persistent and severe ischemic necrosis of cardiac muscle. ?Clinically, it is considered that the provision of blood to the coronary artery is sharply reduced or ceased because of coronary arterial sclerosis. Some cases lead to coronary artery hyperkinesias, inflammation, embolism and abnormality. Once myocardial infarction occurs, it will be a disaster. Judging from the big mouse's acute myocardial infarction model, ligated left anterior descending branch of rat's aeteria coronaria can obviously raise ST phase. The medium-dosage group (150mg/kg) and high-dosage group (450mg/kg) of bamboo leaf flavone and the compound Salvia miltiorrhiza group (250mg/kg) can raise ST phase in a lower proportion compared with the ischemia group. This shows that high and medium dosages of bamboo leaf flavone can obviously prevent myocardial infarction caused by ligation of aeteria coronaria, and reduce the area of myocardial infarction, indicating a relation of dosage dependence. Besides, the high-dosage group has a better effect against myocardial infarction than the compound Salvia miltiorrhiza group.
Some other researches have showed that low-dosage (0.3g/kg), medium-dosage (0.6g/kg) and high-dosage (1.2g/kg) of bamboo leaf flavone can fight in varying degrees against big mouse's ischemic damage of cardiac muscle caused by hypophysin (T wave change). Low-dosage can fight against T wave's change caused by hypophysin at the 15th second and the 30th second. Medium-dosage can fight T wave change at the 15th second, the 30th second and the third minute. High-dosage can fight T wave change at the 15th second, the 30th second, the 60th second and the third minute. Compared with compound Salvia miltiorrhiza, bamboo leaf flavone has better effect. Bamboo leaf flavone has obvious improvement on myocardial ischemia and protection for myocardial ischemia. |

Ⅻ. Research on bamboo leaf flavone's protective function of cerebral ischemia |
|
Small mice's decapitation cerebral ischemia animation experiment has shown that different dosages of bamboo leaf flavone can obviously extend the lives of small mice with decapitation cerebral ischemia. Low-dosage (0.15g/kg), medium-dosage (0.45g/kg) and high-dosage (1.35g/kg) of bamboo leaf flavone can lengthen small mice's panting time after their heads have been cut off by 17%, 27% and 29.1%, respectively. The result is very obvious compared with the control group. And medium-dosage and high-dosage groups have better effects than compound Salvia Miltiorrhiza.
The experiment about small mice's bilateral arteria carotis communis ligation has shown that medium-dosage (0.45g/kg) and high-dosage (1.35g/kg) of bamboo leaf flavone and Nimodipine tablets (0.2g/kg) all can obviously lengthen the lives of small mice with ligation of bilateral arteria carotis communis by 52.0% and 53.6% and 61.9% respectively, compared with the comparison group. Nimodipine tablets in the positive comparison group have a slightly better effect than bamboo leaf flavone.
Bamboo leaf extracts mainly consisting of flavonoids and coumarin lactone have shown signs of curing cardio-cerebro-vascular diseases. A number of experiments have demonstrated that bamboo leaf flavone has good effects on regulating blood lipids, which is better than gingko flavone; and ?there is no side effect on blood, urine, blood sugar and functions of liver and kidneys. It can obviously control lipid peroxidation caused by hydrogen oxide, prevent LDL-C in blood serum of Cu2+ medium from oxidation, control small mice's lipids from peroxidation, raise the activity of glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase, effectively dilate coronary artery veins, increase the volume of the coronary artery, obviously improve myocardial ischemia, reduce the area of myocardial infarction, reduce domestic rabbits' blood platelets' conglomeration, effectively control coagulation process and protect people from cerebral ischemia to some extent. Confirmed experimental results have indicated that bamboo leaf flavone has great potential to prevent and cure cardio-cerebro-vascular diseases as natural medicine and health food. |
